Miss Cosmoworld 2017 Grand Finale~
Greetings Readers! Do you remember, back in July I went to cover the Inaugural launch of Miss CosmoWorld 2017, a beauty pageant organised by Ms. Carrie Lee, who is a beauty queen and Miss Chinese Cosmos International 2004. After months of campaigning and judging beauty entries around the globe, the pageant is finally down to their final contestants from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Chile, China, India, Argentina, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Germany, Russia and Korea. The grand finale was held in the grand ballroom of the newly introduced St. Regis Hotel Kuala Lumpur in amidst the luxury of fine dining dinner.
As the evening wore on, guests of the events were regaled with talent performances by the contestants, and a nearly endless parade of high fashion and bespoke haute couture. Towards the end of the night, the winner of the pageant went to Ms. Natthapat of Thailand, with Ms. Michelle Chen of China coming in close as the 1st runner-up and Ms. Svetlana Sheyko of Russia as the 2nd runner-up.
In addition to the pageant winners, subsidiary titles were also awarded to the following final contestants:
1. Miss Elegant - Ms. Ilona Cecilia (Indonesia)
2. Miss Personality - Ms. Maggie Tan (Malaysia)
3. Miss Charming - Ms. Im Somi (Korea)
4. Miss Popularity - Ms. Svetlana Sheyko (Russia)
5. Miss Perfect Body - Ms. Svetlana Sheyko (Russia)
6. Miss Beautiful Smile - Ms. Andrea (Argentina)
7. Miss Glamorous - Ms. Natthapat (Thailand)
8. Miss Photogenic - Ms. Safina Goibova (Central Asia)
9. Miss Perfect Skin - Ms. Im Somi (Korea)
10. Miss Talent - Ms. Kim Jiseon & Im Somi (Korea)
11. Best Creativity - Ms. Evyonne Chong (Malaysia)
12. Best National Costume - Ms. Maggie Tan (Malaysia)
13. Miss Environmental Friendly - Ms. Rupa Khurama (India)
There were lots of activities and team-ups in the 16 day beauty camp that led up to the grand finale night. The pageant finalists had the opportunity to stay in the 5-star award winning resort, Philea Resort & Spa for about 2 weeks and at the Amari Hotel Johor Bahru for 4 days. The beauty camp also included International grooming classes by CT Chin (Malaysian graduated from London), Coco (Singapore) & Teresa (China). Charitable activities of the CSR project also took place, and outdoor team building & sports activities were organised as well. The ladies also had the opportunity to sing “We Are The World” and performed cultural dances from their respective countries for the orphanages homes, much to the enjoyment of the children at Philea Malacca.
Miss CosmoWorld 2017 is a brand new international pageant, aiming to groom an international cosmopolitan beauty queen who is well disciplined. This is the first year CL Skin Sdn Bhd is organising Miss CosmoWorld and this brand new international pageant is being directed and led by Ms Carrie Lee, the former beauty queen of Miss Chinese Cosmos International 2004 and the veteran beauty pageant organiser who has had 12 years of experience in running beauty pageants both in Malaysia and South East Asia.
As an organiser, Carrie Lee’s objective is to select contemporary modern ladies whom have good heart, whom are independent and passionate about life with good leadership quality. She is grateful for all the opportunities that her previous title has brought her to a different experience and is hoping that the upcoming beauty queens would have been entitled a different experience in their life. She also hope that this pageant would create more values and raise fund not merely during the sub events as well as during grand final for the following beneficiaries:-

As the Ambassador of Disaster Aid Malaysia (DAM) , she and DAM team will be organizing a charity dinner for orphanages homes and disaster relief work and children project of doing handcraft with spastic children association of Johor Bahru. To this end, there was a night of coming Miss Glamorous Selection with UMLand to raise funds for Persatuan Kebajikan Mesra Megah Ria Johor Bahru on the 6-9 November 2017.
The support and sponsorship of all kinds from sponsors and partners was crucial in providing the contestants an opportunity to pursue their dreams in the entertainment industry in partnership with Angela Chan, a veteran star who own a production company. Miss CosmoWorld provided the largest prize in the beauty pageant line and hopes to be credited in Malaysia Book of Records. The Grand prizes given away to all winners of Miss CosmoWorld 2017 comprised of a total value of RM 370,000 cash prize and a total value more than RM800,000 worth of prizes, vacation trips contracts and film star opportunity.
