“The festive season is a time of celebration and reflection. It is a time to give thanks for the many blessings and opportunities bestowed upon us; and it is also a time for sharing and giving. As we reach out to family, friends and business associates, we also open our hearts to those who are less fortunate. We are truly delighted to continue a wonderful tradition that was started years ago, more so one that sends a strong message of hope to the children and their families.” - Mr. Peter Gibbons, General Manager of Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur

Right after the lighting of the Christmas tree, 50 Golden Stars which bore details of the identities of children from the Paediatric Oncology Unit of the Kuala Lumpur General Hospital was placed on the tree to mark the launch of the Grand Millennium Corporate Social Responsibility, “A Star For A Child”. In its 9th year, the charity campaign aims to have visitors and guests sponsor a gift for each of the child mentioned in each of the respective 50 Stars which will be placed under the tree and then personally delivered on the 20th December to the children at the hospital.
Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur has also managed to enter the Malaysian Book of Records for its successful feat in building the nation’s Biggest Advent Calendar House. Standing at 3 stories high, the cottage features 25 numbered windows, each with a lighted festive Christmas scene. Starting on the 1st December, a guest will be invited to unveil one window in a countdown to the 25 days of Christmas.
