Charley's Grilled Subs is a restaurant chain of submarine sandwich in USA featuring sandwiches such as the Philly Cheesesteak, Chicken Teriyaki and Buffalo Chicken. Charley's also serves salads, fries, and lemonade.

Often in our search for good food, it's always a hit and miss. On this particular outing, it was definitely a hit. Getting there definitely needs a little bit of legwork to climb a flight of stairs, don't worry, it will do you some good, as our proprietors cum crossfit enthusiast will tell you. We would like to give a shoutout to Kent and Grace for inviting us.

Lao Jiu Lou 老酒楼, located just a few doors away from Sanuki Udon, also owned by Sanuki Udon. This restaurant has simple oriental design interior, with red tables, benches and red lanterns. They serve fusion Chinese-Japanese dishes from Yokohama, which is home to Japan’s largest Chinatown. Here you will find affordable ramen, gyoza, char siu, as well as steamed prawns and chicken.

Ho Yuan Restaurant is famous for its meat roll, huge pork ball and homemade noodle. Located in Taman Hiburan, the restaurant is now open in the morning and evening.

Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu has commenced refurbishment works to the Porte Cochère and driveway, main entrance and lobby level facilities including dining and entertainment venues to invigorate guests’ experience in the destination.  Refurbishment works are expected to take place until 10 June 2015. Once reopened the hotel will feature new dining venues Latest Recipe, Favola and Latitude Bar.  This three month-long project is initiated to provide a refreshed welcome and renewed brand experience at the hotel.

This unassuming hawker is not one to be belittled. Of course, after seeing the amount of crowd present at breakfast hour on a weekday, demeaning this shop was the last thing on our mind.

New Lane hawker centre, Penang is a favourite amongst locals and some tourists. Along the stretch of road is every offering of all the food that has come to be associated with Penang with the best variations of each of these delicacies; especially notable ones include Hokkien mee, curry laksa, Char Kuey Teow, Char Hor Fun, pork intestines porridge, chee cheong fun, O' Chien, apom manis and the roasted chicken wing and drum stick.

A famous place for roti canai at the famous landmark in Transfer Road. This stall has been in operation for decades next to an old abandoned warehouse. They also serve a good ‘teh tarik’ Malaysian beverage of pulled milk tea with layer of froth on top. Don't forget to order roti bakar top with poached eggs from the stall nearby too, something not to be miss out!

Early spring is the season for lobster in Japan, as well as for the iidako octopus. These will be served in a six-course kaiseki dinner at Zipangu, Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur from 16 to 31 March. This Early Spring Lobster Kaiseki menu features lobster in three courses, and also includes the vegetables of the season, such as field mustard. Early spring is also the time for sakura or cherry blossoms, and the flavour of these also appears in a dessert.

“Qi” is that vital life energy force that circulates round the body, and it is important to maintain, balance and boost this energy. You can do this with herbal soups and dishes during the Shang Palace “Qi” Chinese Herbal Promotion at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The herbal promotion is from 9 to 31 March, and Chinese Executive Chef Tan Kim Weng has prepared an a la carte menu of soups, main dishes and a dessert that are double-boiled or cooked with herbs like ginseng, cordyceps, chuan gong, tian ma and wolfberries.

Restoran Hong Cha is a notable restaurant in OUG serving exceptionally delicious Pork Noodle. Especially during peak hours, finding a table was no easy task here.

The Taiwan Beef Noodle at JW's Corner, Damai, is not one to be missed.

Tian Bu La is a Taiwanese version of Japanese oden, that's made from fish paste molded into various shapes and sizes, deep-fried, then boiled in broth. Before eating, the pieces of solid fish paste are taken from the broth and smothered in brown sauce.

Kedai Kopi Cheng Wah is a coffee shop which serves great Ngiu Chap (beef noodle) in Lido that is available during the day and night.
