LE MERIDIEN KOTA KINABALU HOSTED COFFEE MOMENT WITH MASTER BARISTA SHARIF AZLAN AND HIS TEAM
Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu recently hosted A New Perspective on Coffee: A Moment with Master Barista Sharif Azlan Imran and his team at the hotel’s lobby bar, The Lounge. The event was to introduce Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu’s Master Barista, Sharif Azlan and fellow baristas Mahmuddin Mustapa and Joshua Jaimie.
Barista Mahmuddin created the next specialty coffee, Cappuccino Viennese, Azlan mentioned that it is one of the oldest coffee drinks in Italy. The Cappuccino Viennese has a base of Illy cappuccino, topped with whipped cream and a sprinkling of cocoa powder.
Guests were served delightful morsels of salmon and chicken canapés curated by Executive Chef Shan, whilst they enjoyed the scrumptious coffee creations.
The year’s first seasonal coffees, called the Sweet Retreat trio, included the Dolce Fondente, a delicious blend of Illy espresso, milk, ladyfinger biscuits, and cocoa powder, finished with a dash of cinnamon powder, crafted by Azlan.
Sipping the unique one-of-a-kind coffee, guests were captivated by barista Mahmuddin’s masterful creation of several coffee arts such as a tiger, heart, kissing couple, fern leaf and cobra.
