Jiufen @ Taiwan
Jiufen is a mountain area in the Ruifang District of New Taipei City near Keelung, Taiwan. Known for its breathtaking panoramic view, Jiufen is also a place where Hayao Miyasaki get his inspiration for his famous animation 'Spirited Away', produced by Studio Ghibli
.
During our visit, it was a rainy day, however, it didn't stopped us from enjoying the magnificent view from the mountain.
To get to Jiufen, you have to make your way to the Taipei Railway Station, near the Taipei Main Station (subway), to get your train tickets. Take the train north to Ruifang Station. From Ruifang take the Keelung Transit bus to Jiufen or alternatively you can take a taxi. It took about 45 minutes journey from Taipei to Jiufen.
Wandering around the streets, you will enjoy some interesting and some bizarre store selling all kinds of souvenirs or food.
