Guinness® Appreciation at KK Food Festival 2013

The third Kota Kinabalu Food Festival (KKFF) kicked off on 1st April, with the main highlight happening last weekend at the Opening Bazaar held at Suria Sabah Shopping Mall. The Opening Bazaar introduced all of the Festival's participating restaurants and also highlighted the event sponsors including Guinness Anchor Berhad (GAB). At the GUINNESS® booth, patrons of the Opening Bazaar were given opportunities to enjoy a three-part sampling process of the Guinness Foreign Extra Stout.

Representatives from Guinness® conducted a total of 8 sessions over the 2-day Opening Bazaar during which members of the public, both local and tourist, flooded the booth, keen to learn more about the beer which was first brewed over two centuries ago. Participants were given a small sample to taste, allowing them to explore the different flavors the beer contains. Promoters were also onsite to introduce to participants the proper way of appreciating this centuries-old beverage that is full of good nutrients.

The sampling allowed visitors to experience the explosion of the bitter sweet flavours from the roasted barley that goes into the making of GUINNESS®. It also aimed to inform consumers about the dark brew that is enjoyed daily by 10 million people worldwide.

Mr Patrick Chong, Guinness® Area Sales Manager – Kota Kinabalu was overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response from the public. “It was indeed a healthy and good environment to promote Guinness Foreign Extra Stout as the premium beer, amongst many fine restaurants during KK Food Fest Opening Bazaar.” He added.
During the sampling session, they also took the opportunity to educate the participants about pairing the beer with food offered by some of the Festival’s participating restaurants.
GUINNESS® is the world’s leading stout with over 250 years of legacy since 1759 and was introduced in Malaysia over a 100 years ago. Brewed in almost 50 countries and available in over 100 countries worldwide, GUINNESS® takes its name from its creator, Arthur Guinness. GUINNESS® began brewing at the St. James’ Gate Brewery in Dublin in 1759.
The Kota Kinabalu Food Festival 2013 will continue until the end of the month at all the participating restaurants.
