Everyday Food I Love

After a sumptuous dinner, we decided to wash down all those delicious savory dishes with a night cap, but our night cap takes on a more mellow but sweet approach that can only be found at a chocolate boutique. So it was off to Koko Black at Claremont quarter.

Mee and Cake House in Wisma Merdeka serves a rather good Ngiu Chap at a reasonable cheap price. Many working adults choose to dine-in during lunch hours, hence, the shop will be very crowded.

Be it a cold and wet day or a hot bright sunny day, there's plenty of reason to visit Little Creatures. The warm rustic bar provides warmth for the cold traveler, and its straight from brewery to tap cold beers and ciders can quench the driest of throat.

We were happy to be invited to Wishbone Cafe, to join in their celebration of grand opening after the major makeover. And with the makeover, also comes a shakedown in their menu, retaining some of the old favorites, while adding some new delicious menu.

Feast just like Chinese emperors of old at Noble Restaurant and re-live the moment in culinary delight previously only reserved for Royalty. It is no wonder, perhaps, that the restaurant is so named after ancient noblemen, and today is truly available to the everyday Joe.

Kedai Kopi Lotus is one of the locals favorite spot for great food. Apart from the simple Chinese dishes, they also serves noodles, rice, Grilled Fish, Grilled Chicken Wings and Dumplings. This restaurant is a hotspot for supper as well as for beer drinkers to enjoy a few pints of beer during the night.

Italian is the fifth most identified ancestry in Australia according to wikipedia, and their influence is perhaps most evident in their food, with many Italian restaurants lining the streets of Australia, not to mention the vast winery dotting the country side. We are thankful that proud Australians though they may be, still retain that wonderful culinary skills that are comparable to their comrades back in Italy. One such restaurant that we were lucky to dine in was Sandrino.

In Kingfisher area, you can find delicious, nutritious and relatively inexpensive meat-free meals at A-Foo Vegetarian Restaurant. For budget eaters, the restaurant also offers great value meal daily.

Fremantle Markets are a public market located on the corner of South Terrace and Henderson Street, Fremantle, Western Australia. The market was first built in 1897, with 150 shops for craftspeople, fashion designers, and merchants in the historic Hall, and fresh food producers, vegetable growers and food retailers in The Yard. The Markets are typically open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and are a popular Fremantle tourist destination.

Win Yee Restaurant, located in Kepayan, is famous among the locals around the neighbourhood's area. Specialized in Chinese cuisine, the restaurant is also a good place to savour in seafood dishes.

Dosukoi Japanese Noodle & Bubble Tea is a hidden gem in Fremantle market. As the owner dislike queues at his ramen stall, during peak hour, customers will have to order and pay, get a ticket, leave down their mobile number and wander off till they get an SMS to come back and eat.

It's located on the lower ground floor of Mid Valley Megamall. A contemporary orange and red open-concept setting and design created a relaxing comfortable spot for you, friends and family to chill out. The restaurant first made a name for itself in its home country of Singapore, they also offers Hong Kong-style toast such as Kungfu bun toast (salted butter and condensed milk) and Kungfu French toast (chicken floss and condensed milk).

On Sunday, 4 November 2012, Downbelow is hosting a Finathon – a 1km ‘fun swim’ – at our PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre in order to raise awareness of the plight of sharks and funds for Project AWARE who is fighting for legislation to give sharks a fighting chance. The funds donated to Project AWARE will help the foundation fight to stop shark finning, insist on full protections for critically endangered sharks at government level, negotiate stronger policies with the world’s decision makers to ensure a brighter future for all sharks.

Tucked in the housing area in Taman Delima, Kedai Kopi Fu Xin is another restaurant catering to the neighbourhoods. During the evening, the restaurant is usually filled with huge crowds of mostly families with kids or groups of friends, who stayed nearby the neighbourhood.
