Social @ KL – “The place to be, where friends meet”. A tag line like that is sure to get my attention especially when that place has cocktails and great food. So, on one night, together with a few good friends, we planted ourselves at the casual and cosy tables of Social @ KL, hoping for a relaxing and enjoyable dinner with drinks. Situated in the heart of KL at G Tower, this place boasts all of 8,000 square feet with a comfortable and laid back environment, perfect for that glass of martini after a long day at work.

Social Ice Tea (RM12.90)
Berry Booster (RM16.90)
The Berry Booster reminded me of a detox drink – it contained a mixture of raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and grapes. I call this berry-licious!Mango & Lime Lassi (RM15.90)
If I had to choose, I would go for the Mango and Lime Lassi, which was a concoction of mangoes, lime, lemon and yogurt, resulting in a bright yellow thick mixture that was such a pleasant to drink! Call me biased since I love mangoes, but this drink was a nice balance of mangoes and lime, resulting in a yummy blend of sweet and sour.Wild Mushroom Soup (RM15.90)
For starters, we had the Wild Mushroom Soup, which was served in a sizable cappuccino cup. The difference about this soup was the thin layer of foam on top, sprinkled with mushroom powder, that gave it a really nice aroma but retained the lightness and flavour. The soup was generously filled with bits of button mushrooms and had a moderately creamy texture, perfect to go with the complimentary garlic bread that came with it.And I had to say this – I was in love with the garlic bread! The edges were brown and crispy but the centre still remained soft and nicely buttered. I normally go easy on carbs but these made me eat more than my normal dosage.
Peppered Ahi Tuna (RM26.90)
Peppered Ahi Tuna was a cold dish of fresh tuna coated with black pepper and served with a medium rare doneness to retain the moist and pink centres. I have nothing against medium rare fish but I have to say pepper is not my cup of tea, so I did not really appreciate this dish.Peking Duck with Deep Fried Mantou Bun (RM15.90)
I did, however, licked my lips over the Peking Duck with Deep Fried Mantou Bun! These cute babies were delicately wrapped around tasty and succulent Peking duck with glorious sauce, making them ever so addictive. The mantou was nicely fried without being oily, while the insides were soft and warm. Oh give me a plate of this and I’m a happy girl!
