  Social @ KL – “The place to be, where friends meet”. A tag line like that is sure to get my attention especially when that place has cocktails and great food. So, on one night, together with a few good friends, we planted ourselves at the casual and cosy tables of Social @ KL, hoping for a relaxing and enjoyable dinner with drinks. One of the nearest place where I could satisfy both my craving for Nasi Lemak and ABC is PappaRich.

What makes the perfect claypot chicken rice? Claypot cooking, a traditional style of cooking that is popular in Asia, has a long history dating back to centuries ago. This style of cooking is done where food is placed inside a claypot, then added with water and placed on top of burning charcoal. The claypot is said to be able to distribute heat evenly and maintain the moisture within, hence creating food that is flavourful and moist. Claypot Chicken Rice, a famous Chinese dish in Malaysia, is made popular through the method of claypot cooking, together with the many ingredients that make it flavourful.

My trip to Penang for National CPR Conference. My colleagues brought us to Bali Hai which is a well knowned seafood restaurant for dinner, this place always pack with patrons and many are foreigners. As I remember we paid around RM200 for dinner.

A Dose of High at Flying Chillies: It is no secret that I love hot and spicy food. Anything with my good friend, chilli in it is sure to perk up my senses. Fortunately, I’m lucky to have a partner-in-crime that feels the same way, so much so that whenever either of us is in the mood for fiery food, the other would gladly oblige. One night, I was craving for some hot and spicy tom yam soup when we were in The Gardens waiting for our midnight movie. My first reaction was Flying Chillies, the Thai restaurant situated just below the cinema, a place I frequent with my colleagues on long Friday lunches.

If you happen to be in 1Borneo as early as 10.00am, before the shops started operating, My Kitchen is one of the place that you can hangout for a quick and cheap breakfast.

Looking back at my food posts, I noticed that more and more of them are revolving around Italian food. I admit that I’m a fan of pasta, but that revelation also shows that perhaps, more people are enjoying pasta as well? I love pasta! I find it so versatile – one can cook pasta with cheese, tomatoes, olive oil or even curry! I happen to visit Vanilla Place last week with a group of friends, and dining there meant more than just pasta!

Kak Nong is an award winning kopitiam back in 2007, Sabah Tourism Best Kopitiam Award. Since the opening of its second branch at Harbour City, the restaurant has been more and more popular among the locals.

Every day, the news about Japan’s recent disaster is plastered all over the newspapers and media. There’s earthquake, there’s tsunami and there’s even nuclear leak. To say that it’s heartbreaking is merely putting it mildly, so why don’t we ask ourselves on how we can contribute? Sushi Tei, for example, has come up with a brilliant plan on donating 50% of its sales proceeds (on 25th of March 2011) from all its outlets to support the victims of the recent earthquake and tsunami. If you’re already planning to dine at Sushi Tei, hold on and wait until the 25th! You really have got nothing to lose while dining with a good cause.

A place that crab's lover should take note, a place which serve crab at a reasonable price. East Ocean Seafood Restaurant at Bundusan offers great deals on seafood and other dishes.

Last Friday I was at Urban, Istana Hotel for dinner menu review(during lunch! how odd? oh well, mum didn’t want to sit through the traffic at night) . It was such a rainy day ! I kept having this thinking that the heaven wants to remind us about the tsunami that happened .. Everything will be okay, Japan.

The Hakka Pounded Tea or well-known as Lei Cha is usually serve with brown rice and a variety of cooked vegetables, bean curd, peanuts and fried shrimps or anchovies. The most important element of Lei Cha is the soup which are pounded from a consortment of tea leaves and herbs. Before we eat, the soup will be pour into the vegetables and rice.

Jaya One post again! I've always been told that Duck King serves good quality and tasty food. We found out that it actually got set lunch and yea we sure went and tried. The set lunch is really worth to try. Food is really nice with cheap price, you really shouldn't miss this!

LAVA Resto Bar is more than a restaurant that simply has a bar, it attends to all components of a good dining experience. A place where people can enjoy life, food, drink and live band!

Although one of my team member, frequent patron, this is the first time I have dinner here. It was so crowded at dinner time, almost no table for us, lucky enough someone just finish and leaving. By looking at the signboard name, you already have an idea they're serving something exotic here. Famous for their crocodile meat dishes, venison meat, turtle meat, wild boar meat, frog leg and etc...Absolutely a good place for dining and reasonable pricing!

If you always been in Jaya One, then you should know this modern Japanese casual dining place – Marufuku Udon~! They claimed themselves the first and only fresh udon concept in Malaysia. The udon is handmade and delivered to the outlet daily.

The bazaar at Asia City during the Ramadhan season is one of the best bazaar in town. While during the normal day, there are quite a few of Malay's restaurants occupying the shop lots in Asia City.

Near G-Mart in Inanam, Restoran Wang Seng offers some simple 'Tai Chow' dishes which caters for the residents near-by the area.

In the morning, the most common breakfast in KK is Yu Chap Mee or loosely translated as Mixed Fish Noodle. Soup base of the noodle vary from different places which seems to be a secret recipe of every stall's owner.

A good day start with a good breakfast. The Kon Lau Mee served at Kedai Kopi Seng Long is not one to belittled. Caters mostly for passers-by and regulars, the Kon Lau Mee is selling like 'hot-cake' as soon as the stall is open.

A little sweet retreat for our sweet-tooth. Signature cake being Chocolate Banana, Chocolate Indulgence and Cheesecake, Secret Recipe is an award winning chain restaurant in Malaysia.

  A halal restaurant with comfortable and family's friendly ambiance is hard to come by in KK. Apart from the famous Kak Nong, Nasi Padang Ibu and some other Malay's restaurant, Puteri Hang Li Po in Karamunsing Kapital is also one of the restaurant which serve halal food.

A special breakfast to kick start the day; a plate of noodle of your choice, topped with an option of Chicken Chop or Pork Chop. 'Mmmm..' just tempting enough to keep you imagining how good it will be.

The very common types of Briyani Rice come in either the chicken, mutton or fish versions, always accompanied with Achar (a pickled combination of cucumbers, onions, red chillies and pineapples) and Papadum.

Situated in the busy town of SS2, New Paris Restaurant is no stranger to folks in PJ or even the Klang Valley. What used to be a single storey restaurant has now bloomed into a full-fledged 4-storey building that stretches across 3 shop lots. Amazing! What’s also amazing is the speed of which food is served here. After our order, the waiter told us that we had to wait for about 15 minutes for our food to arrive, but the first dish actually came in less than 10 minutes! On a full house night to boot!
