Little Penang Cafe
Ground Floor North Court
Mid Valley Megamall
Jln Syed Putra
Kuala Lumpur 59200
Tel: 03-2282 0215
Sporting a minimalist yet chic look, this cozy restaurant specializes in authentic Penang Nyonya (blends of Penang Chinese and Malay) food. This place has an airy feel due to the many ceiling fans and is made brighter and more spacious by the huge mirrors on the wall. Favorite dishes include Asam Laksa (noodle in spicy soup) and Nasi Lemak Penang (coconut rice served with chicken and others). For an after-meal treat, take your pick from the selection of delicious desserts. Drinks served include soft drinks, fresh juices and selected hot beverages.

Little Penang Cafe in Mid Valley, they are several other branched in other malls in Kuala Lumpur. They serve great hawker style Penang food  in a clean, neat setting, with slightly bigger serving and pricier. The decor is reminiscent of a 'kopitiam' coffee house, tiles, simple wooden chairs and tables and just an overall causal ambience which to me, makes the place quite attractive for a simple lunch. It's been relocated to North Court, near Esquire Kitchen and Toast Box.
Ice Kacang, RM5.00
The dessert comes in a mixture of sweet red beans, peanuts, banana, creamed corn and black-colored jelly. The shaved ice is flavoured with syrup and evaporated milk.
Cincau, RM3.30

Penang Rojak, RM8.00
Pricey but quite good. Rojak is one of  Malaysian great snack. It's comprised of a few different type of fruits such as cucumber, pineapple, sometimes guava and sometimes green mango. The thick sauce was delicious, made with a mixture of shrimp paste, sugar, chilli and lime juice, it's a sweet dish.

Assam Laksa, RM10.50
The tamarind infused into the rich mackerel broth flavoured with a range of spices and chillies, topped with some thinly sliced fresh ingredients. An all-time favourite Malaysian treat.

Chicken Nasi Lemak, RM10.50
I'm enjoying the nasi lemak, literally translates to 'rice fat', which is actually for your waistline. Due to the fact the rice is cooked in coconut milk. It's a good combination of sambal chicken, egg, peanuts, ikan bilis and sambal belachan.

Total paid for lunch, RM42.90
