A brightly lit restaurant at Inanam Taipan shone like a beacon in the night, attracting hungry souls like us. Big Bowl is located at a corner lot, sharing the same row as SenQ. Monica and I were initially rather impressed with the decor, relatively speaking of course since inanam is not famous for its high end restaurants.
Chinese Tea
This is the Pattaya Fried rice. Although we were expecting drumstick and big prawn, there was none on this plate. You must forgive our high expectation because we build ours based on the photograph on the menu. The waiter however mentioned that the picture on the menu was merely a serving suggestion. It didn't taste half as bad though, and the portion is rather big, but at RM8.00 you may opt for something else.
Next up is nyonya meehoon. This tasted really nice and spicy. There was sufficient spices and herbs to bring out the flavour of an otherwise bland dish. This will run you up to RM6.00 per plate.
They serve fish dish cooked in various styles, priced according to seasonal availability of the chosen breed of fish. On top of that, they also cook prawns in a wide selection of sauce at RM12.00 per plate.
The following are some of the fish they serve
Taste wise, their cooks have no problem cooking up some impressive flavor. If you live in the surrounding areas, its definitely a place to venture to. One problem we did face on his particular night is their slow service. This may be due to teething problems, common in newly opened restaurants, which I hope the management rectify in due time. We doubt it was the lack of staff, nor was it due to too many customers, as you can see from the preceding pictures.
