Oomphatico's , SINGAPORE

Has it been that long since my last food review? Yikes! A thousand of apologies. I have been so busy with work and sorting out my life that food has definitely taken a back seat. The only time i managed to eat a proper lunch or dinner would be the weekend. Looking at all the food that Ange and Monica posts makes me salivate and have weird cravings.

Yoga and exercise has also taken a back seat the past one month. It is almost impossible to exercise as regular as i want when the peak period is here. I am the happiest when i managed to sneak in two or three yoga sessions in a week or sweating it out in the gym. Looking forward to have my routine back to normal. Oh well, enough of me rambling on about my life. Lets move on to more exciting stuff. Yes! Food! I know I am a spoilt girl when it comes to choosing restaurants. When I am paying a bit more for my food, i expect to have everything in the package. From the service, ambiance and the quality of food.

Not too long ago, my friend and I decided to try out this quirky looking restaurant with very interesting decor that is located inside tanglin mall. This place is decorated looking like a pseudo - European posh place. I don't know about you, but i enjoy looking at decors in the restaurant and the overall effort put into bringing the place together. But even if the decor is nice and the ambiance is good, if the food isn't good then nothing is going to do it justice.

The entrace of the restaurant and the big comfy chairs for more relaxing dining experience. Perhaps just catching up with friends or yourself or your loved ones over coffee/tea and desserts.

Check out the lightings that comes in different shapes and sizes and colours.

The wine fridge

"Sexy food. Comfort food. Organic food. Thai food. Little People's food. Oomphast. Gluten Free. Dairy Free. Salad Nirvana. Latin Food."
As what they themselves pride their food to be! Confused? Yeap!
The dinner menu had a wide selection of food to choose from.
We had a side dish, two mains and a dessert.

Stir fried spinach with burnt garlic and sesame oil
S$6
Well this wasn't too soggy and I love my spinach but i would preferred it not as cooked as this

Grilled crisp skin red snapper, carrot, papaya & lime, cannellini bean
salad S$24
I mean if i am paying so much for my fish it better be damn good! Well the skin was very crispy and the fish was fresh. The cannellini bean and the mixture of papaya, carrot and lime gave the fish a very tangy fresh taste to it. The lime definitely did help in cutting out the fishiness of the fish! I did enjoyed this dish and the portion was enough to made my tummy happy.

Half a Japanese Sakura free-range chicken; spice grilled Supreme potted

leg on baby onions, chorizo and minted peas S$24

My friend ordered the free-range chicken! If i had a choice, I'd choose organic or free-range chicken over caged chicken. But that is just my personal preference. Back to the dish, it was nice and well made but according to my friend, nothing to shout about but the meal was definitely good in my friend's opinion.

The chicken was juicy and succulent and the combination of baby onions and minted peas perfectly combines this dish together.

To me, a meal is only completer when you have your dessert =)
What better way to end the meal with something that is hot and cold...
We opted for this
Apple pie, cinnamon gel with home-made parmesan ice cream S$9

The apple pie itself wasnt too sweet but the parmesan ice cream complimented the dish well !
(but i like the apple pie i had at bistro amigos more =) )

Overall, my dining experience here was good but the service was a bit on and off. At times, we get all the attention and at times it was impossible to get their attention. Food wise, its difficult to judge as we only tasted two out of the many main dishes and i heard that they serve a really mean pizza =) Oh well, there is always a next time! But i guess in the end of the day, its the company that matters!?! wait this is a food blog ! So yes, food wise.... i would probably rate it a 7 out of 10.

Till my next food review, I hope soon! Please stay happy and healthy and may you continue to be blessed with joy and peace! Namaste

I'll end this post with a quote from Satchel "Love like you've never been hurt"
In other words,
when we've been hurt and we focus on that, we tend to close off. We tend to stay stuck in the pain or the anger or the self-condemnation or the hatred. When we focus on that inside ourselves, it comes out in our words and actions.

If, instead, we love like we've never been hurt before, we're free from that "stuckness." It's easier to say than it is to do. And, yet, it's a choice we can all make.
